Retirement developer, McCarthy and Stone, is helping the over-60s in Somerset enjoy a "greater life in later life" with its new Move For Free initiative.

The scheme is available on selected one-bedroomed apartments at its developments in Tor View Court, in Street, Holmcroft Court in Shepton Mallet and Fussells Court, in Worle.

With Move For Free, McCarthy and Stone aims to take much of the hard work, worry and expense out of moving. As part of the scheme, purchasers can take advantage of a free decluttering service, helping to dispose of unwanted furniture and household items. A specialist removals team will also be on hand to help pack up belongings, provide transportation and unpack, free of charge.

The developer will also pay legal fees, stamp duty and estate agent fees, while keeping purchasers up-to-date with the sale.

Aileen King, regional sales and marketing director, said: "We know that moving home can be a daunting experience. Many of our purchasers are downsizing after living in their family home for several years, and as such, packing is no small task. Through our Move For Free service, we aim to make the transition from old to new as easy and as stress free as possible, taking away some of the financial strain, so our residents can focus on enjoying later life to its fullest in their new McCarthy and Stone apartment."

As well as offering a low maintenance lifestyle, McCarthy and Stone say purchasers can benefit from a shared lounge and the peace of mind of added security. To find out more, visit the show complexes, open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10.30am to 5pm, call 0800 919 132, or log on to www.mccarthyandstone.co.uk.
