The Mid-Somerset Show's Wassail evening is being held in North Wootton on Wednesday.

Traditional wassail activities will be held on the village green, starting at 6.30pm, and these will be followed by entertainment in the village hall. Clog dancing, comedy, the Langport Mummers and music from Trevor Hoddinott and his band will all be included, and a Wassail Queen will be picked on the night.

The village green events, which will include shooting into the apple trees, are free. Tickets for the entertainment afterwards, in North Wootton Village Hall, are limited and cost £5. They are available by calling Bill Bartlett on 01749 343091 during working hours.
