RE: the stereotyping letter about the Head Hunters carnival cart.

I really get sick of people trying to attach "racial stereotyping" to anything and everything in the 21st century.

Where has our balanced thinking gone? I could be wrong but I don't remember The Globe's excellent carnival float sporting a neon sign saying "beware – all black people are like this".

Is Sophie really suggesting that a cowboy themed float would have us all believe that all cowboys wear makeup and dance? And I bet there have been many Asian-themed floats throughout the years, but nobody really believes all Asians wear wide-rimmed pointed hats and have Fu Manchu facial hair.

The only thing that racial stereotypes such things are the brains of narrow-minded people such as Sophie Pollard.

Where has Common Sense Gone? Abolished by the small minority like Sophie? Why should anyone object to Head Hunter, Black and White Minstrels apart from as previously stated the narrow minded. Carnival is just a festival period marked by merrymaking !! Yes indeed we the majority have become victims of individuals but we must carry on making MERRY.
