Oscar-winning Argo to be screened

BATCOMBE Film Society is screening Ben Affleck's Oscar winning Argo (12A) tomorrow night.

This film is based on the true story of the US hostage crisis in 1980.

It tells how CIA operative, Tony Mendes (Ben Affleck) devises a risky plan to free six Americans who are being sheltered by the Canadian Ambassador after escaping from the US embassy in Tehran when it is seized by revolutionaries.

Directed by, and starring, Ben Affleck it was nominated in eight categories of the Oscars and won three, including Best Film.

It will be shown at the Jubilee Hall, Batcombe, with doors opening at 7.15pm for the 7.45pm screening.
