Eleven members of Griffin Trampoline Club took part in the South West Schools Championships at the City Academy in Bristol on Sunday.

Representing various schools and colleges throughout Somerset, the Griffin trampolinists returned some excellent results, including some in the medals.

Courtney Edson came sixth in the under-11 girls elite category, while Tamara Baxter-Allen was 12th in the under-13 girls novice – her first-ever competition.

In the under-13 girls elite, Alice Chapman – who only started trampolining at the end of October – came a creditable 22nd, Eloise Littman was 16th, Louise Miller finished sixth and Jess Foster came seventh against high-quality opponents.

Abigail Lockyer finished third in the under-15 girls elite group to secure her place in the Zonal Championships in January. Hannah Bird was tenth and Cora Hayne 11th, while Marie Lush was a creditable 23rd having only just started bouncing with the club.

Lockyer, Hayne and Lush also finished third in the team competition for Crispin School.

Carl Ranford put in a typically polished performance and will represent Bridgwater College at the Zonal Championships.
