Wells Tennis Club held their finals day recently, where ladies' captain Vicky Flicker got her hands on a trophy after teaming up with Gary Moule for mixed doubles glory.
The duo saw off first-time finalists Anne Croll and Marcus Fisher to win 6-2, 6-1.
John Cooksley and Sam Edwards also only needed two sets to beat Tomas Simko and Andrzej Piecuch to secure the men's doubles crown.
The most entertaining matches of the day were the three-set singles finals, which finally saw Binkie Heather defeat Phyllis Jennings 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 to win the ladies' title. There was another hard- hitting battle in the men's contest between John Cooksley and Sam Edwards, with Cooksley eventually winning 6-3, 2-6, 10-8.
President Brian Clarke awarded the trophies and said: "Congratulations to all the finalists, who provided entertainment and moments of real quality to members who came along to support.
"Special thanks to Bruce Preston for another successful year organising the event."
The club now moves into winter league mode with matches beginning at the end of the month. There is still time to register for any players who wish to get involved.
